Who are the MacMarines
This webring was created in July of 1997. It's purpose is to provide a ring for those who are members of the MacMarines AND who have some Mac-specific content on their pages. First you might wonder who are the Macmarines? First and foremost the MacMarines are people who believe in the Macintosh. We believe that Apple Computer and the Macintosh are still the greatest personal computers around. These days you may here a lot of things in the media that portray Apple and the Mac in a very bad light. Many of these portrayals in the media are simply distortions, exagerations or falsehoods. We in the MacMarines are dedicated to promoting the truth about Apple and the Mac. This webring is one of the ways we'd like to spread the good news about our platform of choice, the Macintosh. For those of you who don't know what a Webring is, it's a group of pages that have been formed into one giant ring. If start at one page and continue to follow the ring, you will eventually end up back where you started. It is very convenient for those who would like to check out several sites that have similiar content. You can follow the MacMarine Webring and find sites with a lot of good Mac content.
1. You must be a MacMarine. For more information about joining the MacMarines please visit The MacMarines Homepage
2. Save a copy of the two MacMarines webring's graphics that you see below. The one on the left is called mm1.gif and the one on the right mm2.gif. 3. Fill in the following form and press the SUBMIT button. (Please ensure that all information is entered correctly) 10. E-mail me and ask me to add you to the ring. Be sure to include your Site ID Number in the e-mail message. I will check your page to make sure that
the the applicable HTML fragment on your page is okay. 11. After checking out your page, I will take your Site ID Number and use it to add you to the ring. You should then receive an E-mail message, telling you that
you've been added. 12. That's it! You should now be able to navigate the entire ring until to make it back to your own page (although it may take a while). An easy way to make
sure it is working is to go to the homepage of the person who added you (initially it will be just myself...) and see if the next button takes you to your own page. 13. And finally: If ANYTHING on this page is incorrect or unclear, please E-Mail me immediately!! Edit your Site Information (Members Only) To Add Another Person to The Official MacMarines Webring (Members Only) NOTE: Initially I will be the only Ring Member that will be able to add other sites to the ring, but I'm including this description for possible future changes... I will also go through the ring to ensure that it is unbroken. your site ID and password below:
Once you are a member of the Ring, you will have the ability to add other pages to the ring. Here's what you do:
Type in their Site ID below and click Add. Then just follow the instructions on the form provided by the Webring Main site. It should be very clear. But you really
MUST visit the site first (You can do it from the Webring Main site) to ensure that they have an easily accessible ring table (with all the links and graphics) on one
of their pages. Remember, somebody surfing through the ring don't want to wonder where the next link in the ring is.
If someone asks to be added to the ring, have them make the necessary changes to their page, including all of the changes to the HTML fragment above that
are necessary (e-mail address, graphics, site ID number, etc.) and check to see that they are correct before inserting them in the ring. This will guarantee
that the ring will correctly function immediately.
