THE CURE ADVENTURES AND PLANS (NUMBER 3)

by the cure club in 1986

Inside:
. . . . . OVERHEARD SEPTEMBER TO DECEMBER 85

. . . . . we released 'the head on the door' and we played some concerts and the first 10 were in england and scotland and wembley was a highlight as we proved venue size can be immaterial and a 'cult hero' encore in brighton was fab and the first infamous 'teamcure' football match lingers too (despite a humiliating 6 - 3 defeat) and each concert was different and some much better than others . . . . .

. . . . then we went to america and canada where we played 23 more concerts all over everywhere and irving meadows outdoor show in los angeles was probably the best (particularly the audience and the fireworks) and we went to disneyland and to see the l a raiders (except laurence who slept) and had innumerable interviews and car chases and toronto was groovy and we had a yards of ale drinking competition and robert got very sick for a week and we went to cleveland for the first (and the last!) time

and we had our photos taken with
lots of people and porl climbed a mountain in denver and we spent halloween in a field and finished up in radio city in new york which is a georgeos old place and we played a fab concert and four encores and then we had a party and then came home . . . . .

. . . then we made a french documentary about us in london and paris (where we were poisoned!) and then we played a mencap charity concert at the camden palace and then we went to europe where we played a further 18 shows and holland was good and so was belgium and germany was drab and italy was shambles and france was groovy (except in grenoble where laurence sang (?) 'wild thing' to commemorate 9 years of the cure on stage and then we went to monte carlo and lost and simon spent the whole time dressed as santa claus singing 'hello old lady' and boris set hotels on fire and montpelier and toulouse were fun and then everyone in the world came over to dance on the last night at the bercy in paris and it was glorious and we went out and got emotional and then gatecrashed and played at the staff party in our hotel and then we came home . . . . .

. . . . and now it must be time for the singles album and a re-mixed re-sung 'boys don't cry' and a video compilation of all the bits of us you've never seen and the book and . . . . .

. . . . . . . and . . . . . . .
